Every order is reviewed and authorized by a licensed physician on our network before it reaches the lab, and your results come back from the same CLIA-certified facilities your doctor would use.

TestWell uses Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp, and BioReference — the three largest CLIA-certified national reference labs in the U.S. You choose which lab to use at checkout based on availability and proximity, and your sample is processed at the same facility your doctor's office would send it to.

TestWell results are exactly as accurate as the results from your doctor's office, because they come from the same labs. Quest, Labcorp, and BioReference are CLIA-certified (the federal accreditation standard for clinical labs) and run the same equipment, calibration, and quality controls regardless of who ordered the test. The reference ranges shown next to each marker are pulled directly from the lab's report.

Most results are ready in 1-3 business days after you visit the lab. Some specialty tests (like food allergy panels or hormone panels) can take 5-7 business days. You'll get an email and a portal notification the moment results are released; turnaround time for a given test is shown on its product page.

Three reasons. First, we negotiate self-pay rates directly with Quest and Labcorp at scale and pass them through. Second, we don't bill insurance — that strips out the billing, claims, and denials overhead that doubles or triples the price of a standard lab test. Third, there are no hospital markups, facility fees, or doctor's-office overhead because you're going straight to the lab. The list price you see is the total price.

Yes. TestWell orders are HSA-eligible and FSA-eligible because they are diagnostic medical tests. We provide an itemized receipt with each order that meets the documentation requirements for reimbursement; if your HSA/FSA debit card is rejected at checkout, pay with another card and submit the receipt for reimbursement.

TestWell is available in 49 states plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. Rhode Island is the only state currently excluded — state law there restricts direct-to-consumer lab ordering, so we cannot serve patients in RI at this time. Puerto Rico orders are drawn at Quest Diagnostics locations on the island.

Every set of results is reviewed by a licensed physician on the TestWell network. If anything is flagged abnormal or critical, you'll get a clinical note in your portal explaining what the result means and what next steps to consider. For critical out-of-range values, our medical team contacts you directly. Abnormal results are not a diagnosis — they're a signal to follow up with your primary care provider, and you can share the full report with them at any time.

Yes — TestWell results are designed to be shared with your existing care team. You can download a clean PDF of any result report from your portal, email it directly from the portal to your doctor, or print it and bring a copy to your next visit. The reports include the lab's official letterhead, reference ranges, and physician sign-off, so they're accepted in clinical workflows.

Yes. TestWell is fully HIPAA compliant — your name, contact information, and results are encrypted at rest and in transit, and access is restricted to the medical team and engineers who need it to deliver the service. We don't sell, share, or use your health data for marketing. You can export your data or permanently delete your account at any time from the portal.

A panel is a curated bundle of related individual tests sold together at a lower combined price. For example, the Comprehensive Wellness Panel includes a CBC, metabolic panel, lipid panel, thyroid markers, and several others — buying them as a panel costs significantly less than buying each test à la carte. Individual tests are ideal when you only need one or two specific markers; panels are ideal when you want a broader picture of your health.

It depends on the test. A standard lipid panel or comprehensive metabolic panel asks for 8-12 hours of fasting (water is fine) for accurate cholesterol and glucose readings. Most other tests — thyroid, hormones, vitamins, allergy panels — don't require fasting. The fasting requirements for your specific order are listed on the test product page and again in the email confirmation we send.

Each TestWell account is for a single person — the patient whose blood is drawn. You can pay for a family member's order, but they need their own account so the physician review, lab requisition, and result report are all tied to the right person. For minors (under 18), a parent or legal guardian needs to create the account and provide consent at checkout.
